Start with a conversation

Let us know about any discomfort, changes you have noticed, and questions about your teeth or gums. Tell us about your medical history and medications, and any concerns about dental visits. We want you to understand the findings and feel comfortable asking questions.

Checkups and preventive care

Examinations and professional cleanings help support ongoing oral health. Your dentist will recommend the timing of visits and any imaging based on your needs. Home-care guidance can help you look after your teeth and gums between appointments.

Restoring teeth when treatment is needed

When a tooth needs attention, we explain the problem and discuss appropriate options. Depending on the condition of the tooth, these may include a filling or crown. We consider the remaining tooth structure, how you bite and how the tooth fits with the rest of your smile.

Specialist care within your dental team

Some concerns call for additional expertise. Our practice includes general dentists, a prosthodontist, a periodontist and an endodontist. If your needs involve replacing teeth, more complex restorations or gum care, we can discuss the next step with the appropriate clinician.

Questions you may have

It has been years since my last dental visit. Where do I start?

Book a visit and tell us it has been a while. Share any discomfort, concerns, or anxiety when you contact us. The first step is understanding your current dental health and discussing priorities; you do not need to have everything figured out beforehand.

Why do I need a deep cleaning instead of a regular cleaning?

A deep cleaning, or scaling and root planing, treats plaque and deposits on root surfaces beneath the gums when gum disease requires it. It serves a different purpose from routine cleaning. Ask your dentist to explain the gum measurements and findings behind the recommendation.

Why am I scheduled for periodontal maintenance more often?

After gum disease treatment, ongoing maintenance helps monitor the gums and manage deposits that return. Your recommended interval depends on your condition and risk factors. Ask how your gum health is changing and what you can do between visits.

Can a filling fix my tooth, or do I really need a crown?

That depends on how much healthy tooth remains and whether there are cracks, decay, or an existing large restoration. Ask your dentist to show you the problem and explain why a filling or crown is recommended, including the alternatives.

Should I wait until my tooth hurts before having it checked?

No. Decay and other dental problems can develop without pain. Regular examinations help identify problems before you notice symptoms. If you develop a new toothache, a broken tooth, or swelling, contact the office to discuss the next step.

Can I talk about cost before agreeing to treatment?

Yes—ask for an explanation of the recommended care, alternatives, and estimated fees before deciding. Insurance benefits vary by plan, so confirm coverage and your expected share. If several treatments are recommended, ask which are priorities and whether they can be phased.
